The prefix ab– suggests a moving away from something, some person, or place. In respect to the self, the suggested turn is outward, toward a point of external engagement and participation. With this in mind, ab– takes the name of the events. A series of happenings and encounters with object and other ranging from lectures, exhibitions, seminars, performances and more, ab– is a place for ideas expressed in their impermanence. It seeks to contribute back to the architectural discourse shaped by the academic institution while simultaneously expanding such boundaries.
