MASKS offers a zone in which the thoughtful and critical explication of an idea may be expressed in its appropriate medium and where design students are not held to an institutionally prescribed agenda.
Should you be interested in collaborating with us on AB (live event, exhibition, lecture, performance, ...), we are happy to take proposals throughout the course of the academic year and will work together to establish an appropriate schedule and execution of any events.
Should you be interested in contributing a piece to AD (essay, fiction, illustration, ...), please send us a brief abstract of your proposal. Final written submissions are typically between 1,500 and 3,000 words long and are printed in an annual publication released in conjunction with the beginning of each Fall semester. An open call for abstracts for the forthcoming issue will go out immediately following the release of the prior issue.
Abstracts should not exceed 500 words and should be submitted as .doc or .docx files. All abstracts should be accompanied by a short biography of the author as well as detailed information regarding images if necessary (i.e., title, author, year, and credit). Upon receiving the proposal, any decisions to go forward and develop the piece will be made by our editorial staff and an agreed upon schedule with the author involving a series of editorial rounds will follow.
Please contact Masks at firstname.lastname@example.org with your proposal, abstract, or simple query. We look forward to all future contributions and collaborations.
